VOLUNTEERS (mentors/coaches) and GUEST SPEAKERS

Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers/guest speakers, we provide high-quality educational experiences for students and teachers alike. If you are interested in sharing your scientific, technical, engineering, or artistic expertise with the youth of Pittsburgh, please contact us. We welcome new volunteers and guest speakers.

A volunteer is an individual who represents Team RobotiX on a regular basis as a coach or a mentor.  Our volunteers MUST have PA clearances to work with children.  We do not consider a guest speaker (at a community event, workshop, or field trip) a volunteer of our organization.

Apply for clearances at http://keepkidssafe.pa.gov/resources/clearances/index.htm.  β€œThe Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance can be submitted and paid for online through the Child Welfare Information Solution (CWIS) self-service portal.  Submitting an application online allows individual applicants to receive their results through an automated system that will notify them once their results have been processed.”

Visit http://keepkidssafe.pa.gov/cs/groups/webcontent/documents/document/C_135249.pdf for additional information about volunteer clearances.
